To connect to VPS hosting, you need to take the following steps:
Start - All Programs - Accessories - Remote Desktop Connection.
In the window that opens, enter the IP address you received by email.
To make working with VPS hosting easier, select Parameters (the selection dialog window is shown in the screenshot above) and go to the Connect tab. Then in the "If server authentication fails" dropdown menu, select "Connect and don't warn me."
Also in Settings, in order to be able to import the Expert Advisor from your work computer, select the "Local Resources" tab and under "Local devices and resources" click More.
In the window that opens, put a checkmark next to the local disk where you want to save Expert Advisor. In our example, we use Local Disk (С:). Then click OK.
Please note! Connected local disks are only available to a connected client, not to company employees. Company employees do not have access to the list of files on the connected disk and cannot copy data from it.
Then exit Parameters and click Connect. You will be asked to enter your username and password to connect to the remote desktop. By default you will be offered your current Windows 7 account. Click Switch user and enter the VPS username and password you received by email. Then click OK.
If you entered your information correctly, you will see a window with a remote desktop on the Exness VPS server where the МТ4 terminal is already installed.
To install Expert Advisor, log in to your account on the VPS server.
If you previously configured display of local disks in your account, proceed to Step 3. If not, configure your settings as explained in Steps 4 and 5 under Connecting to the Remote Desktop above.
To install Expert Advisor on your remote desktop, click Start - Computer.
In the window that opens, under Other open your local disk, which looks like this: <Disk name> on <Local computer name>.
Start the trading terminal and open "File" – "Open Data Folder". In the window that appears open the "MQL4" folder and paste the files for experts, scripts, and indicators in the corresponding folders (Experts, Indicators, Scripts). Then restart the trading terminal.
Launch MetaTrader from the shortcut on your VPS server desktop and enter your Expert Advisor settings.
If your Expert Advisor is an installer file (with the extension .exe), save it to your remote desktop and inform our Technical Support team that you need Expert Advisor installed. Please provide your account number and the IP address of your remote desktop. Expert Advisor will be installed within one business day, after which you will receive a confirmation email.
To change the password you use to access your remote desktop, go to the Control Panel: Start - Control Panel.
In the window that opens, select User Accounts.
In the window that opens, select Change your Windows password.
Then select Change your password and follow the system’s instructions.
Once you change your password, company employees will no longer be able to recover the password for you. From this moment on, you alone control access to your VPS desktop.
Important! If you lose your VPS password, you will lose access to all the data on your VPS desktop. Please keep this password in a safe place that only you can access.
Please remember that you should never share your Exness VPS username and password with anyone.
Allowing others to access your VPS hosting could potentially cause you to lose the money in your account.
